Of interest are the temporal and spatial distributions of the white flashes seen on the NE (left) edges of both towers.

MAX-MIHOP provides a comprehensive explanation for these flashes.

In short, these are initiation flashes.

This video provides magnificent examples of the military-deception strategy of hiding or cloaking demolition work in plain view, by waiting for - in fact, creating - and exploiting peak-emotional-moments (PEMs), when peoples' attentions are riveted elsewhere.

Basically you can see MILDEC planners create and hide behind horror.

Note added August 11, 2007:


I propose an explanation for the white flashes seen in the video 2nd Hit, North Face Cropped.

The white flashes seen along the NE edge of both towers are from energetic lasers (directed energy weapons, or DEWs) being used - not to cut or heat WTC structural steel - but to ignite thermite-dusted shock-tube.

Clever.

The thermite-dusted shock-tube then ignited thermite planted in perimeter-panel box columns, spandrel splice gaps, and other steel connectors.

The planted thermite was designed not to cut the structural steel, but heat-weaken it.

The towers were heat-weakened until they collapsed.

When they collapsed, there was little resistance.


And NIST could say, "NIST found no evidence of controlled demolition by explosives..."

Note added October 09, 2007:


Some might object that lasers aren't white, yet the flashes are white.

The ignition of thermite - if I understand correctly - requires about 1200 C.

Note that at 1200 C, metals radiate white light.

I claim the white flashes are from the ignition of the thermite.

Also, aluminum burns with a brilliant white light.

Max, I don't think lasers could ignite thermite. I mean...dude...come on!


Well, if a scrawny little laser pointer can light a match;

and if a larger laser can take out a missile, (also see Wikipedia > Tactical High Energy Lasers),

then perhaps lasers could have ignited thermite-dusted shock-tube from across the street.

Note added November 07, 2007:


Watch the east (left) edge of the north (right) tower right as the jet hits the south tower.

Look right below the impact floors.

Note that right after the white flashes appear, white "smoke" appears where there was none before.

MAX-MIHOP says that white "smoke" is actually aluminum-oxide ash from thermite that had just been ignited by thermite-dusted shock-tube, which had just been ignited by lasers from WTC7.

I figured out a simpler ignition mechanism:

The thermite-dusted shock-tube - which I now call thermite fuse - was ignited by the jet's impacts.

If this were true, then the next most likely explanation for the white flashes is JPEG compression artifacts (though I find the timing extraordinary).
